EWS is building two EWS Sonnenfelder® in September 2024.

One in Pischelsdorf am Engelbach in Upper Austria and one in Potsdam.

The implementation planning and realisation of the two agrivoltaic systems were each put out to tender as part of a tendering process. There was even a Europe-wide tender for Potsdam. Both contracts were awarded to the EWS Sonnenfeld® system developed by EWS for the dual utilisation of good arable and grassland areas.

EWS EPC GmbH will now implement the 4.58 MWp EWS Sonnenfeld Pischelsdorf on behalf of Energie AG Oberösterreich as general contractor with the expertise of EWS Consulting, starting construction at the beginning of September 2024. Commissioning and thus the start of start of feed-in of an annual solar power production of around 6 million kWh into the grid is planned as early as spring 2025.

EWS Sonnenfeld Potsdam

Construction work has already started in Potsdam. Here too, EWS EPC GmbH is realising the turnkey 944 kWp agrivoltaic project for the renowned Max Planck Institute Golm research institute on the university campus in Potsdam in an approx. 6-month construction phase.

"The order confirms that we, as a project developer for agrivoltaic systems, are rightly focussing on a promising European market and that with the EWS Sonnenfeld® we offer a suitable and contemporary system with maximum area efficiency," says Ernst Steiner, Managing Director of EWS EPC.
